Pattaya city Guide

This area is more private and confident, and also known as the most expensive in the city. There are numbers of luxury high-rise developments by the beach together with 5-star beachfront hotels, such as Centara Grand Mirage, Long Beach, etc. North Pattaya has one of the cleanest beaches – Wongamat Beach and very beautiful old wooden temple “Sanctuary of Truth”, which is known all over the world with his unique design and that it’s made only from wood without any nails. Everybody who comes to Pattaya should visit this place at least one time.

There is also a place called Naklua area, located about 1 km from Wongamat beach, where you can find some cheap accommodations and inexpensive restaurants and café. At the end of Naklua road you will find a fresh sea food market with the best prices for the sea food in the city, and they can even cook it for you at the place, but this market works usually until 2 PM.  There is a small park close to the sea, just near the market, where you can sit, relax and enjoy the sea breeze.

Pattaya is not a big city and consists of 5 main districts/areas: Central Pattaya, North Pattaya, Pratumnak and Jomtien/Na-Jomtien and a huge East Pattaya area.

All central part of the city between Sukhumvit and Pattaya Beach road, includes South Pattaya (Tai), Central Pattaya (Klang) and North Pattaya (Nuea) streets. The most numbers of hotels, shops, bars, ago-go dance clubs, discos, massage and beauty salons, restaurants and cafe are concentrated in this area, together with well-known shopping malls, such as Central Festival Plaza, Mike Shopping Mall, Avenue Plaza and Royal Garden Plaza.

Also there is a Central Pattaya Night Bazar/Market located on Pattaya 2nd Road, just in 100 meters from Central Festival Plaza, where you can find a lot of souvenirs, Thai silk, etc. Easy access to this area provided by public transport (Baht bus/Song teo).

Famous Walking Street also located in Central Pattaya. From 5 o’clock past midnight this street closed for the cars and all the bars and disco-clubs are waiting for everybody who comes for the party.

At the end of the Walking Street located well-known Bali Hai Pier which is working mostly in the day time. From here you can take a speed boat or a ferry boat to the nearest island named Ko Larn, where you can relax and enjoy the beautiful white-sand beaches with super clean sea.
