This area is more private and confident, and also known as the most expensive in the city. There are numbers of luxury high-rise developments by the beach together with 5-star beachfront hotels, such as Centara Grand Mirage, Long Beach, etc. North Pattaya has one of the cleanest beaches – Wongamat Beach and very beautiful old wooden temple “Sanctuary of Truth”, which is known all over the world with his unique design and that it’s made only from wood without any nails. Everybody who comes to Pattaya should visit this place at least one time.
There is also a place called Naklua area, located about 1 km from Wongamat beach, where you can find some cheap accommodations and inexpensive restaurants and café. At the end of Naklua road you will find a fresh sea food market with the best prices for the sea food in the city, and they can even cook it for you at the place, but this market works usually until 2 PM. There is a small park close to the sea, just near the market, where you can sit, relax and enjoy the sea breeze.
Pattaya is not a big city and consists of 5 main districts/areas: Central Pattaya, North Pattaya, Pratumnak and Jomtien/Na-Jomtien and a huge East Pattaya area.
